The movie is about Ram (National Award winner & son-in-law of Superstar Rajinikanth, Dhanush) and Janani (Shruthi Hassan, daughter of the great actor Kamal Hassan) how they move on through all the feelings from their teen and even after they tie a knot.

Director Aishwarya has kept a great suspense in the beginning of the movie. We do not want to spoil the surprise as you should watch the movie with excitement’. Hence as told above, intro will be a little shocking and the entire movie runs with a ‘Flashback’. We might heard the news about Rajini saving his Son-in-law’s life, this news was nothing but a part of the movie. Rajini has taken the crew to avoid this scene but was never taken and still being in the movie. This has added a lot of expectation to the movie. Since Kollywood industry has a habit of making the ‘nail-biting’ experience to run the entire movie interesting. 3 movie has a special characteristic feature as expected. The story begins with the typicality of south Indian teen who owns a RX100 bike waiting under the shades of tree in a raining evening and who enjoys the passage of girls. Suddenly stuck with the thunder bolt by a beautiful girl who needed help to fix her broken chain in the cycle. Dhanush wins her heart by helping her. He joins his tution class only because to spend time with the girl whom he has fallen in love with. He avoids his best friends and their company to spend time with his dream girlfriend. This part is movie meant to have best cinematography. Hats off to the director Aishwarya and the crew.

A controversial scene has to be described since its needed to describe the skills of the entire main roles. Sundar is being Dhanush’s friend who had to stay in Dhanush and Shruti’s apartment when they being a married couple. In a typical day, Dhanush turned late to home and being questioned by Shruthi. When Dhanush made up reasons by telling official work, Shruthi breaks the silence by probing that she has already made and check for his presence and figured out that he left work early. Shruthi hugs Dhanush with an affection by expressing her love in front of Sundar. This unconvincing scene specifically caused the curiosity in the second half.

The second half will completely put you in to the different mood and genre. A psychological thriller, Dhanush has given his best. You will figure out his extra ordinary talent into making transitions while comparing the beginning of the movie. Although he looks young as if he performed his role in “Thulluvatho Illamai” and “Kathal Kondein”, he did a lot extra to prove his acting skills through this movie. Unless like other previous movies, Shruthi’s persona is rated better than any other movie she has done in Bollywood or Kollywood. As usual Being a teen age girl, she has won youth’s hearts, being a charming girl and created fascination among young race. Being a comedian, Shiva Karthikeyan has not just put us in laughther, he has also proven his acting skills with sizzling dialogues to chill and enjoy the movie.

Befitting characters Prabhu, Bhanupriya and Rohini got the special attention by the family crowd for their skills in parenting. The most expected and young personality, the music director of this movie Anirudh has proven that he is not a starter to do the music direction. The mixture of Rock and Melody genre background music are mind blowing and take the viewers an extra movie to get involved in to the movie. “Why this Kolaveri” song has not met the expectation ever since it was a international hit across the globe. The spicy scenes are the added advantage to the movie by differentiation the usual patterns of the Tamil movie.

The story is based on the real – life incidents shooting on the real suicide points of Kodaikanal, Theni and Munnar that depicts the life of people dwelling in the hill station in recovering bodies of suicide victims who jump off a cliff.

Sera is an orphan with no emotions and a vagabond along with Karnas, Thambi Ramaiah and a mute guy live in Kodaikanal are the experts in searching for the dead bodies of people who jump from above 3000 feet from the suicide points and handling it over to the police for money.

Once Sera recover the body of a girl whose sister is Kavi works in a tea factory is attracted towards the moron Sera. The twist of the story begins when Sera is entangled with the local big shot Jayaprakash, who smuggles tea from a rival factory with the help of the estate manager ending with a sanguinary climax.

Krishna played a convincing role fitting in to the skin of the character proving his best and Bindhu with expressive eyes is perfect for the romantic scenes. Other casts such as Thambi Ramaiah, Karnas have also played well.  Cameraman Satya needs to be appreciated for his efficient camerawork in the misty night effect shots. Yuvan’s “PaathagathiKannupattu…” is soothing to the ears.

Sathyasiva’s words “Yuvan Shankar Raja’s music would be the backbone of the movie. Krishna has given his best and this film would sure take him to heights.” The movie is a good mixture of all the commercial elements portraying the hard work of Sathyasiva and his team.

Muppozhudhum Un Karpanaigal (Thoughts of You All Day) is the most awaited sensational romantic movie. The movie has created a huge publicity by its stills and the sensational news of the casts sold out all the tickets for all the shows within 2 hours booking open. ‘Muppozhudhum Un Karpanaigal’ movie is directed by Elred Kumar who has brilliantly mixed a right blend of romance between Atharva and Amala Paul, Glamour of Amala and Comedy of Santhanam.

MUK movie is bound with lot of specialities as it is produced by the Producers who have seen big hits for Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya and Ko, peppy and romantic tunes of G.V.Prakash and the new combination of Atharva and Amala Paul. The story line of the movie is Ram (Atharva), working in an IT company and Charulatha (Amala Paul), who stands independently on her own strength although her father is a King in IT Industry. She comes to India from United States to prove her potentials in IT industry. Ram and Latha is destined to work as a team on a software project to develop a project for preventing the human race from Hazardous diseases caused due to the radiation emitted from Radioactive machines. As their software grows, their love also gains its shape and when everything is going smoothly, the director has kept a twist in the story by Latha goes missing and how Ram win back his girl friend from all the obstacles that comes on his way.

Atharva has improved a lot and provided his best efforts in his second movie after Baana Kaathadi. MUK has promoted him different from his first film. His body language, expressive eyes suits best to the role of a sophisticated IT guy has gained hearts of young girls and more youth fans. Applause for his dancing skills. We can expect big hits from him in the future. Amala Paul on other hand has put her all efforts to make her role equally good as Atharva’s. Santhanam’s comedy tracks are so enjoyable by mocking IT professionals is a real fun.

MUK director Eldred Kumar has keenly focused on the audience expectations and never let a chance to get distracted even for a scene by keeping the audience fully engaged throughout the film. A special appreciation for his work and his team.

Cinematography by Shakthi also has done is part very well. The visuals of Las Vegas are far beyond excellence and gave good effects to the movie. Music by G.V Prakash Kumar as usual rocks with his peppy songs and background score.

Verdict: Average. Worth waiting for, and worthy of further thought.

Ambuli – Tamil’s first 3D stereophonic Movie: Ambuli is a new dimension in Tamil Cinema delivering a visual treat and a unique experience for the audience. The director duo of Hari Shankar and Harish Narayanan has proved that even a 3D movie can be made within the commercial parameters of Tamil cinema by almost competing enough with the latest Hollywood technology! The story make you feel that it is heard during our childhood days from your grandmother with the characters close to your heart.

The story period is in 1978! Two friends, Vendhan (Srijith) and Amudhan ( Ajay) study in same college. Ajay falls in love with Poongavanam (Sanam). Poongavanam dwells in a village nearby to the college and so Amudhan stays in college hostel even during vacation with help of Vendhan’s father (Thambi Ramiah), who is the watchman.The main problem for Amudhan to meet his lover is the long route to the village, stretching for miles on end travelling through a river. There is a short route to the village which crosses through a huge abandoned corn field. The people in the village dwell in fear of a ghost called Ambuli with a strong belief that whoever travels through the field after will be killed and eaten by the ghost.

With the immense love , Amudhan decided to meet his lover travelling in the short route although he was warned not to do. He comes across the supernatural element on his way and hearing this incident Vendhan gets anxious and decides to find out the story behind Ambuli. No one else knows that the friends have determined to find out whether Ambuli exists actually or a rumour? On their search , they discover Senkottaiyan (Parthiban) , a devilish looking forest dweller who lives alone in the abandoned fields. The friends suspect him naturally and on enquiring the villagers , they got to know that he is brother of Ambuli! This aroused their curiosity to uncover the legend of the Ambuli.

Music is by quartet of Venkatprabhu Shankar, Sams, C S Satheesh and Mervyn Solomon. The background score is a huge plus providing the chilling effect and all pep needed for the movie. The music has been kept with the Seventies effect in mind as have the costumes and settings. The seventies effect is well brought out by the art and costume departments and adds a quaint touch to the movie.

‘Ambuli’ is no child’s tale. It is a well made, brilliantly conceived and neatly executed film although the film leaves a few questions unanswered here and there, overall, it’s certainly well worth a watch with the entire family. A home-grown 3D film that is bound to take Tamil cinema to next level in terms of technology.

Verdict: Above Average.

Kaattupuli movie has disappointed the fans of Arjun. The movie stills created some publicity and made people desire to watch. However, Kattupuli ends up as an incomplete film with a weak story.

Spectators of the film were disappointed with the film and the director leaving a question of what the director was trying to say in the film? Arjun’s fans are worried that how he accepted this film which demerits his calibre and looks as if he is forced to work in this film. His stunning energy is missing in this movie.

The story – Arjun, who is a doctor with his wife and their 5-year-old daughter are all on a picnic in a forest meeting a bunch of college students. There are Cannibals with blood smeared all over them sporting blue lenses with the thirst of killing humans who are hand-in-glove with a gang of doctors into a business of organ trafficking. The rest of the film is how Arjun brings them to spotlight.

Eventhough, it is a dubbed film but the lip sync is pathetic and most of the performances are so embarrassing with its voyeuristic and shamelessly borders on soft-porn.

Verdict: Below Average.

With a heavy starcast such as Madhavan, Arya, Sameera Reddy and Amala Paul. Director N Lingusamy has made a rocking tamil movie for this pongal. After Paiyaa, this is the next movie for Lingusamy.

Now, let us read the Vettai Movie Review.

Plot:

 Thirumurthi and Gurumurthi,  Madhavan and Arya respectively are brothers from a family where taking up the Police profession was respected. They are originally from Thoothukudi. Thiru grows like a innocent boy, whereas Guru grows into a naughty bully. Guru develops himself as a Gunda, and protects his brother, Madhavan.

Thiru and Guru,  run into two naughty sisters ‘Vasanthi’ and ‘Jayanthi’- Sameera Reddy and Amala Paul. First it starts as a tiff, and when time goes by the sisters fall in love with the brothers. Vasanthi will love Thiru and Jayanthi will love Guru.

And then the baddie, enters the screen. Asutosh Rana and his gang of gundas, enter thoothukudi and threaten the people in every way. Co incidentally Madhavan is made as the inspector of the police department, on the lines of his father and Grand father. Madhavan transforms as a  police officer, but he will be very timid and soft natures. His  colleagues Nasser and Thambi Ramaiah, misunderstands that he is brave, by a series of funny incidents.

Sameera and Madhavan marry each other, and problems starts from there. The villain gives trouble, so Arya moves to the villain side and pretends he is one of them, the baddie comes to know about this and beats up Arya. Did Madhavan come for rescue, did he turn up bold, or get on with cowardice till the last.

Performance

 Lingusamy  once again proved that he is the best action director in the K-town, his fast screen keeps the movie in the right pace. And it never gets mediocre at any moment. Both Madhavan and Arya have given out great and contrasting acting. Amala Paul is getting hotter and hotter in each movie. Surely this move will increase the realm of her fandom. Naser and Thambi Ramiah , though their roles are cameo, they have done justice to their roles.

Nirav Shah’s Cinematography is very appreciative. And can be told as the very important component of the film. Yuvan’s rocking paparappan ,usic, makes you tap your feet, and the BGMs take you into the scene, and gives goosebumps at times. And Antony’s editing makes the movie fast paced, and never make us feel the jump.

Final Review:

This movie will be a comeback for Madhavan and another hit movie for Lingusamy. Amala paul will enter the hearts of the fans. But sometimes too much of Action gets us down. Hope you enjoyed our Vettai Movie Review.

Verdict: A lingusamy Sarkarai Pongal with lot of Action.
